GREEN CONTRIBUTION PROGRAM — THE 50/50 MODEL
A small contribution. A shared benefit for your organisation and the environment.
Through the Green Contribution Program, participating hotels and resorts collect an environmental contribution per guest, per night. Each contribution is divided equally: 50% stays with the participating hotel or resort.
These funds are dedicated to maintaining and improving environmental standards — including energy efficiency, water conservation, plastic reduction, waste management and staff training.
50% supports environmental projects through the Christopherus Stiftung International.
These funds help support initiatives such as protecting waterways, reducing pollution and promoting environmental education. Projects in participating destinations can also benefit local communities and preserve the natural surroundings that attract visitors.
What does this mean in practice?
With a contribution of €2 per guest per night, 10,000 guest nights generate €20,000: €10,000 for environmental improvements within the hotel and €10,000 for environmental projects supported by the foundation.
Hotels gain resources to improve their sustainability and potentially reduce operating costs. Communities benefit from environmental initiatives, while guests help support positive change through their stay.
